Nexus - HPHT Best Practice Guidelines

Nexus is an authority on the drilling of complex High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT) wells. In collaboration with Think-Well (Scotland) Ltd. Nexus has created an online resource available by subscription to companies and individual progessionals involved in the recovery of hydrocarbon resources from HPHT wells.

The core resource is a catalogue of HPHT Best Practice Guidelines developed from experience gained over several large scale HPHT development programmes involving input from multiple Operators, Equipment Vendors and Service Providers.

The topic based Best Practice ‘chapters’ are rich in technically detailed practical guidance for Well Engineers of all disciplines, for use at all stages of the Well programme. The site content is intended to provide peer-to-peer reference to field proven HPHT best practice and is therefore not configured for research or academic use.

The original paper based version of this core resource was written to address the specific needs of HPHT projects executed by BP, Statoil and Petrobras.

The core guidelines were updated and published in Web-enabled form through this site and will be maintained with current best practice and reference to emerging technologies as they are field proven, for the benefit of subscribers in the international Oil & Gas industry.

Additional components of the overall resource will come online, creating a living point of first reference to current best practice in HPHT for all subscribers.
