Nexus - Assurance Skills Workshops
Nexus has designed a series of workshops to fast track engineers and other supply chain personnel through the labyrinth of legal jargon and industry expectations that our well engineers are exposed to today. It will explore safety, environmental and business 'criticality' in a comprehensive and practical manner.
The following modules comprise the Assurance Skills Workshops...
Managing Risk - Risk is about awareness, personal judgement and perception, responsibilities and taking action to reduce risk to acceptable levels whilst taking advantage of the rewards risk can offer. This module is designed to take engineers through an understanding of managing risk to the development of a simple management system for assuring the integrity of wells equipment. |
Legislation - Lord Cullen's 1990 Piper Alpha report presented many fundamental and far reaching observations and recommendations which subsequently became the basis for a swathe of new legislation. This module tries to make sense of the legal minefield that we have to pick our way through - DCR, MAR, PFEER, PSR, LOLER, PUWER, etc. |
NPT in Wells - Many NPT events in wells have been caused by improper material specification or a general lack of awareness as to what you have to tell a designer (your supplier) in order for him to provide 'fit for purpose' equipment. This module reviews key metallurgical and elastomeric properties that impact equipment performance. |
Criticality - During any planning process, we have to assess 'risk' of equipment and systems that we employ in terms of both safety and business. This module presents a model for calculating a 'level of criticality' and combines this with specifying this as part of the equipment's Statement of Requirements. |
With improved competency, knowledge sharing and collaboration of your people and your suppliers, you gain a commercial advantage by dramatically reducing these avoidable equipment problems.
Well operators and supplier personnel involved in drilling and wells operations, equipment design and specification, procurement and assurance activities and audit and planning will all benefit from these workshops. More than 500 delegates have already benefited from attending.
